An event held on the theme “Bases of ethnic multiculturalism in Azerbaijan”


On November 28, with the support of the Knowledge Foundation under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, a regular event took place at the Azerbaijan National Museum of History.

Members of the “Azeri Tat” Society ant the religious community of Mountain Jews, as well as undergraduates of the “Azerbaijan” University, teachers and pupils of the 9th grades of the Lyceum of the Technical and Humanitarian Sciences No.2 named after G.Makhmudov attended the event, held on the topic “Basics of ethnic multiculturalism in Azerbaijan”.

Ali Farhadov, employee of the museum, Ph.D. in Philology noted in his report that representatives of various religious communities and ethnic groups live in Azerbaijan closely around the ideology of Azerbaijanism, and this has its own serious scientific basis.

The member of the Cultural Center “Azeri Tat”, Ph.D. Muhammad Aliyev and member of the religious community of mountain Jews of Azerbaijan Avshalum Danilov informed about the history of their communities.

The event was also presented by the staff of the museum. Doctor of Philology Fuad Agayev told about the history of the Russian community, Sarah Akhmedova- about the history and culture of Talish, Zulfiya Jalilova- about the life and activity of the Armenian writer Alexander Shirvanidze.

Teacher of History of Technical and Humanitarian Sciences Lyceum of No.2 named after G.Makhmudbekhov  Sevil Nasibova also noted the importance of such seminars in the education of schoolchildren.

At the end of the event the speakers answered the questions of the meeting participants.
